A Trifecta of Birthdays

Greetings,

My precious pooch, Hershey Pie, is three years old today! And yesterday was my son's 31st birthday, and tomorrow is my daughter's 28th birthday. This week I am celebrating a trifecta of birthdays!

I am incredibly blessed to have them in my life, and I marvel at how far God has brought them - especially my human children. God has been with them since their conception and never left their side.  Through every happiness, sorrow, difficulty, joy,  smart decision, dumb decision, up and down, God has been right there.  And  the Bible verse I am praying for them is found in Psalm 138:8, "The Lord will work out His plan for your life for His faithful love endures forever."

God's plan includes "taking care of us," "teaching us," "directing our steps," "watching over us," "granting us wisdom," "blessing us with the desires of our heart," "giving us a full life with firm muscles and strong bones," and SO MUCH MORE....

And the best part is that Hershey says we can all pray this verse over our lives even if it's not our birthday!

PRAYER:  Dear Lord,  Thank You that You are working out Your beautiful plan for each of us.  Because of Your faithful, enduring love, You desire to see us safe, secure, blessed, wise, at peace, and healthy.  Seeking You each day is the wisest thing we can do because it helps our hearts and minds be in the right place to receive these blessings.  In Jesus' name, AMEN~

God's Greeting Card

Greetings,

I have been in a purging mood lately, so this past week I tackled a crate filled with every Mother’s Day, Birthday, Anniversary, Valentine’s Day, and Thank You card that I have accumulated for the past 30 years.  It was a pleasant trip down memory lane, and also bitter-sweet reading some of the messages that my now-grown children wrote when they were little.

“Mommy, you’re the best.”

“Thank you for making my favorite lunch every day.”

“I promise to cuddle for 20 minutes.”

All that reminiscing made me think about what God would write to me if He were to give me a card: “Dear Yenise, I know the plans I have for you – plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11).

Those are some of the best words ever written in the Bible and a powerful promise for all God’s children.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, thank You that Your plans for my life are good.  You are willing to provide a hope-filled future, and I receive it.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.

A Trifecta of Birthdays~

Greetings in the name of the Lord,

Twenty seven years ago today Rachel Janelle was born.  Two years ago yesterday Hershey Pie was born, and 30 years ago the day before yesterday Jorgie was born.  This week I am celebrating a trifecta of birthdays!

These three characters have brought me a lot of blessings, and naturally I find myself looking back over the years.  It's  amazing how far they have come, especially Jorgie and Rachel.  God has been with them since their conception and never left their side.  Through every happiness, sorrow, difficulty, joy,  smart decision, dumb decision, up and down, God has been there.

By they way, I asked Hershey Pie, and he says we can all pray this verse over our lives even if it's not our birthday!

Sharing is Caring

Greetings,

FIFTY  years ago today at 7:05 in the morning a very special boy was born: My husband, Jorge!  God's greatest gift to me in this lifetime has been this man.  He loves Jesus, and it shows in the way he treats me and our family.  I am forever grateful, and I have a special prayer for him today straight out of the pages of the Bible. However, because sharing is caring, I invite each and every one of you to take the time today to pray this over the ones you love as well.
Dear Lord,
Thank You for (Jorge), a great and beautiful blessing in my life! You direct Your love to him by day, and at night Your song is with him.  You brought him forth from his mother's womb, and (Jorge) is fearfully and wonderfully made.  I praise You for Your marvelous creation. I pray that (Jorge) may enjoy all the years of his life, and that You will lead him along straight paths. May he never stumble and, may he always remember that even into his old age, You will sustain him and carry him. (Jorge) is truly a good and perfect gift from above, and I ask that You multiply his days and add years of health and wholeness to his life.  In Jesus' name, AMEN!

I love you, Bibi~

A Trifecta of Birthdays!

Greetings in the name of the Lord,

One year ago today Hershey Pie was born.  One year ago yesterday Jorgie was born, and one year ago tomorrow Rachel was born.  This week I am celebrating a trifecta of birthdays!

These three characters have brought me a lot of blessings, and naturally I find myself looking back over the years.  It's  amazing how far they have come, particularly Jorgie and Rachel.  God has been with them since their conception and never left their side.  Through every happiness, sorrow, difficulty, joy,  smart decision, dumb decision, up, and down, God has been there.  And  the Bible verse I am praying for them is found in Psalm 138:8, "The Lord will work out His plan for their life  -  for His faithful love endures forever."

The good news is that God has a plan for each of us too.  The Bible teaches us that His plan is to "take care of us," "teach us," "direct our steps," "watch over us," "grant us wisdom," "give us the desires of our heart," "give us a full life with firm muscles and strong bones," and so much more.

The even better news is that even though it may not be our birthday, we can pray that verse over ourselves today!

PRAYER:  Dear Lord,  Thank You that You are working out Your beautiful plan for all of us.  Because of Your faithful, enduring love, You desire to see us safe, secure, blessed, wise, at peace, and healthy.  Seeking You each day is the wisest thing we can do because it helps our hearts and minds be in the right place to receive these blessings.  In Jesus' name, AMEN~

ANYTHING!

Matthew 18:19-20 “When two of you get together on anything at all on earth and make a prayer of it, My Father in heaven goes into action. And when two or three of you are together because of Me, you can be sure that I’ll be there.”

Last Friday was my bday, so here’s a shout out to me and my 49 fabulous years of life!  I spent the day at the beach, and it was a beautiful day.  We played games and ate a bunch of junk food, and listened to music, and swam around in the clear water.  We marveled at the flock of ducks that swam by, and applied sunscreen frequently.

When it was all over, Jorge and I sat in the car and he asked for his cell phone.  It was gone, and the panic set in.  It was a mild panic, because after all, losing one’s cell is more of a huge inconvenience than a life-threatening matter.  Nonetheless, we offered up a quick prayer, and glory to God, the phone was in the sand right where it fell out as we were packing up earlier.  It was all by itself – surrounded by scores of beachgoers – halfway buried in the sand.  Amen!

Unknown to me, at the exact same time the cell phone drama was taking place, a friend of mine was having a crisis with a relationship.  Furious prayers were offered up for a speedy reconciliation and mutual understanding.  God moved quickly in that situation.  By the end of the evening positive steps were taken to save a struggling relationship, and those steps are still headed in the right direction all these several days later.

Two completely different situations with something in common: GOD went into action for both of them.  In God’s eyes, both were important.

Let us all stand up right now and thank God that He places no conditions or rules or limitations on what we pray about.  He wants to hear about anything and everything.

Anything less than that would be an insult to His power.

For us to assume that He does not want to be bothered by the trivial, is to misunderstand His perfect heart as a Father.  If you are frantic trying to find the perfect hair bow for your daughter, He wants to help.

To assume that He’s too busy dealing with wars in the Middle East to deal with your smaller problems, is to dangerously undervalue His power.  It’s not a though God has to prioritize matters, and it’s not like He only has the ability to deal with huge world crises.  He is Omnipotent – all powerful.  Let that sink in.  He can help you find a cell phone, and heal a marriage, and provide protection for those in combat all at the same time.  Let’s not focus on how He does it.  Let’s focus on Who He is, which is an awesome God Who invites us to get together on anything and pray.  Nothing is off-limits.

Be bold in your requests, and then watch Him go into action.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, Thank You that You care about every single detail of our lives.  You long to be invited into every situation.  It is a blessing to be able to pray about anything knowing You will go into action for us.  In Jesus’ name, AMEN~

Happy Birthday to Me~

Independence Day greetings~

Today we will temporarily skip this week's DEVO topic because it's my birthday! Yea:)  But before I give a self-promoting shout out to me, I first and foremost give a shout out to God who made my life possible.  For all the highs and lows that come with living, He is incomparably the highest high for me.  Next, here is a shout out to our great country.  I LOVE YOU, AMERICA!  You're still the greatest nation in the universe.  Also, a shout out to each of you.  All of you are precious and immeasurably treasured by God; give yourselves a hug.  And last but never least, a shout out to me.

Happy Birthday, Yenisita!!!!

And now I will share my birthday verse with you all.

Isaiah 46:4 "I will be your God throughout your lifetime--until your hair is white with age. I made you, and I will care for you. I will carry you along and save you."

PRAYER: Dear Lord, You are with us from beginning to end until the day You carry us into Your presence.  Thank You for Your constant companionship.  In Jesus' name, Amen to that!  Blessings:)
