Watch This Movie!

“Listen! The Lord’s arm is not too weak to save you, nor is His ear to deaf to hear you call” (Isaiah 59:1).

Dear Reader,

Today I want to recommend a movie that will encourage you and inspire you to believe God for your own miracle.  It’s called BREAKTHROUGH.  This is the only dialogue I will share, “Please God, send Your Holy Spirit to save my son…”

As soon as I heard those words I was filled with emotion. As soon as I saw God’s response, I started ugly crying and didn’t stop until the movie ended.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank You for those who make inspirational films.  We certainly need more of those than any other kind today.  Bless everyone who watches this movie to hope in Your almighty power. In Jesus’ name, AMEN.

When God Speaks~

Greetings,

Right at the very beginning of the Bible we read that when God speaks, amazing things happen:

"God said, 'Let there be light,' and there was light'" (Genesis 1:3).  

And by the time God was done speaking, all of creation was established, and He declared that "it was good."

God will speak into our lives too.

Whether it's a financial breakthrough, a relationship rescue, or a health need, no matter what it is, let's ask God to "let there be..."

enough resources to cover the bills...

peace and mutual understanding between us...

a miracle of healing and strength...

When God speaks, situations turn around, order is brought out of chaos, and it leads to good things. 

PRAYER:

Dear Lord, "Let there be..." Such simple yet powerful words because of WHO speaks them.  We all have an area where we welcome Your creativity, strength, and goodness.  Speak a miracle into our lives today.  Especially for _______.  Let there be _________.  In Jesus' name. AMEN~

Tuesday greetings ~

Isaiah 41:13 “I am the LORD your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, 'Do not fear; I will help you.’”

What can we expect when God takes us by the hand?  The book of Mark in the Bible provides one glorious answer with three different miracles.

Mark 1:31 “He went to her, took her hand and helped her up. The fever left her and she began to wait on them.”

Mark 5:41 “He took her by the hand and said to her, ‘Talitha koum!’ (Which means, ‘Little girl, I say to you, get up!’). Immediately the girl stood up and began to walk around (she was twelve years old). At this they were completely astonished.”

Mark 9:27 “Jesus gently took his hand and raised him to his feet, and he stood up.”

When God takes hold of our hand, we get up! We get back to business!  We don’t stay down; we rise by His power and live! 

In all three of these verses there was no hope left.  But when Jesus took each of these folks by the hand, a mighty reversal took place.  What is that “thing” that has you down?  Is it your child? Two of these miracles were performed at the request of a parent.  Is it a relative? The other miracle was for Peter’s mother-in-law.  Is it you? God takes a hold of YOUR right hand today.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, Take our hand, please, and lift us up.  You are speaking into our hearts today and promising to help us.  Do Your thing! In Jesus’ name, we receive it! Amen~

Delays Are Not Denials~

Have you ever heard the expression: “Delays are not denials?”  It’s a common saying in church circles, and it means that just because your prayer hasn’t been answered yet doesn’t mean that God is not going to answer, or that He has somehow overlooked you, or worse, chosen to ignore you completely. 

No one understood this better than Jairus.  Remember him?  He was the father who asked Jesus to come to his house and heal his sick daughter; he’s also the one whose messengers brought the news that the little girl died while Christ was delayed attending to someone else.

Those around him said there was no use in Jesus showing up because there was no need now.  And yet, THE BEST WAS YET TO COME!    

Mark 5:42 “At once the girl stood right up and began walking.  Everyone was completely amazed.”

None of us can understand God’s reasoning.  Why not heal her before she died?  Maybe one of the reasons was to encourage those who read the Bible to have faith – that no matter how dire the circumstances, Jesus is on the way when we pray. 

And hats off to Jairus for not giving in to the fear and telling Jesus He didn’t need to come.  After Jesus told him, “Don’t be afraid. Just trust Me,” Jairus followed Christ all the way home where a mighty miracle would soon take place!

PRAYER: Dear Lord, Thank You that delays are not denials. Help us to trust Your timing. Whenever we are tempted to give up or stop praying, we invite You to whisper in our hearts, “Do not be afraid. Just trust Me.”  In Your name we pray, AMEN~

What Do You Want Me To Do?

Someone wants to ask you a question today, and His name is JESUS!

Mark 10:51 ““What do you want Me to do for you?”
Jesus was directing His question at a blind man named Bartimaeus.
Bartimaeus responded, “Lord, I want to see!”

Excuse me while I take a moment to relish this scene in my mind…

When we read a few verses before this one, we learn that blind Bartimaeus was sitting by the roadside begging.  Jesus, the disciples, and a large crowd were leaving the city, and Bartimaeus somehow heard it was none other than Christ Himself Who was walking by.  He started to shout, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”

That’s when Jesus asked the famous question, “What do you want Me to do for you?”

Bartimaeus knew the answer and didn’t hesitate to ask for a healing miracle. “Lord, I want to see.”
Mark 10:52 “…Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road.”

Connect the dots time.
·       Bartimaeus is blind.
·       He has heard of Jesus before because when Christ was on that road he called out for his miracle. 
·       Jesus stopped what He was doing and paid attention to Bartimaeus.
·       Jesus asked Bartimaeus a compelling question.
·       Bartimaeus was specific, non-hesitant, blunt and to the point.
·       Bartimaeus received his sight and became a follower of Christ.

We will break this all down a la Macarena style next week, but look at the order.

There’s a need, Jesus is the miracle-worker, we must call out to Him and tell Him what we want.  We will always get the best answer for our situation.

Amen Amen Amen!!! I pray that Bartimaeus has inspired us all today.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, I take You up on Your Word, and this is what I want You do to for Me today: ___________________.  By faith I receive the answer.  In Your name I pray, Amen!

This week we will look at a passage of scripture that will encourage us mightily. It is filled with truths that will bless us while taking the pressure off that we somehow have to achieve a degree of spiritual perfection to warrant a miracle from God.

The Disciple Peter was in jail and miraculously freed when in Acts 12:8 an Angel rescues him. He goes to the house of Mary where, "Many people had gathered and were praying," for his freedom.

Acts 12:17 Peter knocked at the outer entrance, and a servant named Rhoda came to answer the door. When she recognized Peter’s voice, she was so overjoyed she ran back without opening it and exclaimed, “Peter is at the door!” “You’re out of your mind,” they told her. When she kept insisting that it was so, they said, “It must be his angel. But Peter kept on knocking, and when they opened the door and saw him, they were astonished. Peter motioned with his hand for them to be quiet and described how the Lord had brought him out of prison. “Tell James and the other brothers and sisters about this,” he said, and then he left for another place.

There are so many precious gems in this passage, and we will examine them all.

Precious truth of the day: "When someone you love is in a crisis, gather your pals and pray! Maybe, just maybe, while you are still praying, there will be a knock at the door!

PRAYER: Dear Lord, Thank You for Your Word. It teaches, inspires, and brings hope. Bless us with peace, health, and joy. In Jesus' name we pray, AMEN
